妈妈总是告诉丫丫，时间和金钱都是有限资源，用了这里就不能用那里，所以要懂得善用这两样东西。要节省着用，要规划着用，要创造的用。丫丫不是很会花钱的丫头，因为妈妈总是告诉她会花大人钱的丫头不是好丫头，好丫头要学本领，长大了自己花自己的钱。妈妈会告诉她，世界上有许多很贵很好的东西。如果你想要，你就必须自己去挣。而且名牌不会让你更有魅力，如果你是一个有魅力的人，那么你会让所有你用的东西都变成名牌。我希望我的丫头以后有品位，但我希望我的丫头未来不虚荣，我希望我的丫头有自信，但我希望我丫头的自信不来自于外在的物质。因为物质是会失去，而只有自己内心的自信才真正属于自己。丫丫很乖，要什么东西也从不执着。每次还会想着替妈妈省钱，有时妈妈开玩笑，丫丫，你那么能吃，妈妈可要破产了。于是丫丫要买什么东西的时候，总会问妈妈一句“妈妈，丫丫买了这个你会破产吗？”
出了国，才知道什么叫省。以前在中国，其实妈妈也是个大手大脚花钱的主。但出国了，总觉得有那么多地方需要钱；出了国，妈妈开始知道钱是有限资源，要规划着花。有时也很希望能把世界上所有好东西都买给孩子。但妈妈也知道，妈妈没有那么多钱，而且当孩子太容易得到她想要的东西，她就不知道珍惜。妈妈的老板告诉妈妈：给孩子金钱不如给她赚取金钱的能力。所以妈妈希望丫头能独立，未来能有比妈妈更强的生存能力。妈妈希望，丫丫珍惜她得到的每一件东西，包括她学习钢琴或者任何一项技艺的机会。但妈妈也知道，孩子需要增长见识，所以虽然很贵，但妈妈还是会带着丫头去听音乐会，去看古堡，还去世界上最大的迪斯尼公园。妈妈承诺丫丫，有一天要带她去做和泰坦尼克号一样大的大油轮。妈妈希望丫头懂事，但不短视。
上个星期丫头病了，于是周末小朋友家的玩水PARTY没有能去。小丫头很遗憾。妈妈告诉她，好好养病，可以去星期四学校的水公园旅行。可惜丫头的哮喘在临行前一晚发作了。于是星期四妈妈只好请假在家陪丫头。丫头很虚弱的醒来，遗憾的想想不能去玩水了。但丫头很懂事的问妈妈有没有为丫头的公园之行付费。妈妈很好奇她为什么会问。丫头说：如果你付钱了但我没有去，那不是浪费了你的钱了吗？让妈妈感动心疼了很久。妈妈告诉丫头：只要你不随便浪费，即使付费了也没所谓的。
其实有时也很矛盾，希望孩子坚强却怕孩子经历苦难，希望孩子懂事却又为孩子的懂事而感到心疼。我的小丫头，真的让妈妈好心疼好心疼啊。
